A message to all youths. Enjoy
We find ourselves in a society that is money conscious and morally bankrupt. The youths have become lazy and unproductive. They all are affected by the _”Get Rich syndrome”_ making quick money without working. Everyone wanna be in the showbiz business. We all wanna become celebrities, social media personnels. The society itself is not encouraging. They portray education and entrepreneur enterprises badly by funding showbiz and invariably saying education is pointless.
This brings us down to the question “HOW CAN YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE?”
Being different means not being afraid to challenge the norm, willing to take a chance, asking why, making your own part. How then do we create that difference.
1. *DISCOVER YOURSELF*
You make a difference by first discovering yourself, then you can influence others. Everyone has something they are good at and it’s your responsibility to discover it. Now we talk of passion. An extreme interest in or wish for doing something such as a hobby, activity etc. You start small by discovering your abilities and then you could set your own goals.Have heard some saying that they don’t have a passion. The fact is that you have what you like doing but you don’t see the viability. Everyone has something that drives them. But not all passion are viable is the crux of the matter. Maybe you are the artisian type (not everyone is good at schooling u know) but you wouldn’t know this until u engage yourself. Just open to ideas and I promise you that without fail one will click someday soon. Remember nothing is more invigorating than doing what you enjoy.
2. *HARDWORK*
This is a lost word in our youth’s dictionary. We hear people saying if it were all about hardwork, those pushing waste trucks or mechanics are to be the richest. I put it to you that hardwork isn’t about working unnecessarily hard on what doesn’t task your mind. The coordination of your mind and might comes together to produce the real effect of hardwork. To be hardworking is to learn more. Cultivate the habit of reading so u can be informed. They say Readers are leaders. As students, most of us won’t even read until there’s an exam insight. But you know what, everyday of our lives is an exam. You either pass or fail the test of life. Everyday is an opportunity to grow beyond your present barriers and circumstances. It takes only small step to succeed.
A chinese philosopher _Lao-tzu_ once said _”The journey of a thousand mile starts with a step”_ Beleive me there would obstacles along the way but with each small step they would be overcomed. There would be frustrations, fears, and uncertainties, but with each small step they would be crushed. There would be hardship and danger, but with each small step and focus on the desired destination, you would conquer. So you see, success is no mystery. It takes hardwork to be successful.
3. *PERSISTENCE*
Also perseverance, it is that quality that makes you do what you do or love doing consistently without looking back until u get the desired results. Know this, being successful is hard and you won’t necessarily succeed the first time you try. That’s ok, most of the successful people in the world are the one’s who’ve had the most failure. Micheal Faraday is a perfect example. As we were told that the man who discovers electricity tried his experiment 99times before he finally got it. Had it been he was discouraged and do not persist, we would all live in darkeness now. He succeeded because he understood that you can’t let your failure define you. You have to let them teach you, you learn from it. You got a bad grade doesn’t mean you are stupid, it means you need to spend more time studying. No one’s born good at things. You become good at things through hardwork and persistence. Where you are right now doesn’t have to determine where you will end up. That you are born in gutter doesn’t mean you should live a gutter life. You work hard(mind and might) and you do it with this unequalled tenacity, then you’re bound to be heard and felt. In order words you are bound to be successful.
4. *BELEIVE*
Your ability to be assured in yourself that you can and you would achieve your desired goals is ultimate.
Abraham Lincoln once said _” Beleive in yourself and there will come a day when others will have no choice but to beleive with you”_ Don’t ever give up on yourself. Even when you’re discouraged and you feel other people have given up on you, don’t ever give up. Cause when you give up on yourself, you give up on your goals. Just beleive in your difference. Don’t mind that it is dissimilar to what others are doing. Think well about it and be radical. It is said that only radical minds make their prints on the rocks of history. When you are hardworking, persistent, and beleive u will succeed, then the sky is your starting point.
I would leave you with this piece. Successful people ask themselves: “what would I do if I knew I could not fail?IF u knew you could not fail, what would you succeed at? If you could have anything, be anything or do anything, what would it be? Contemplate your answers and begin to think about how and take actions on realizing your aspirations.
